2024 NFL Schedule Predictions For The New York Jets

Like we did last week with the Giants, it’s time to make way too early schedule predictions for the Jets. Things should be very interesting for Gang Green, which (presumably) will finally get to see if their stacked roster can ascend to elite heights with Aaron Rodgers under center. Here’s a look at the full Jets’ schedule courtesy of their Twitter (X) account.

Week 1: At San Francisco 49ers (Monday Night Football)

For the second straight year, the Jets open on Monday night with a difficult opponent. Rodgers lasted just four plays before going down for the season while the Jets pulled out a miraculous win in overtime. Suffice it to say the Jets will be just fine with the opposite outcomes occurring in each situation.

Record: 0-1

Week 2: At Tennessee Titans

Two consecutive road games to begin the season isn’t ideal but the Titans are a team in transition. The Jets take care of business on a short week and rack up their first victory of the year.

Record: 1-1

Week 3: Vs. New England Patriots (Thursday Night Football)

The Jets’ home opener is in prime time against the rebuilding Patriots, who they finally beat in January to snap a 15-game losing streak that dated back to 2016. The short week isn’t fun but the Jets handle the Pats at home to start the MetLife slate with a victory.

Record: 2-1

Week 4: Vs. Denver Broncos

Alijah Vera-Tucker is very happy this game is at MetLife Stadium after seeing his past two seasons end in Denver due to injuries. The defense lifts the day as neither Bo Nix or former Jet Zach Wilson is capable of solving Robert Saleh’s defense.

Record: 3-1

Week 5: At Minnesota Vikings (London)

The Jets head across the pond for their first international game since 2021 when they take on the Vikings. It’s unclear whether rookie J.J. McCarthy or former Jet Sam Darnold is under center but Rodgers lights up a shaky Vikings’ defense on Sunday morning.

Record: 4-1

Week 6: Vs. Buffalo Bills (Monday Night Football)

The second Monday night game of the season for the Jets is a huge one as they get fired up for a showdown against the reigning AFC East champion Bills. Rodgers gets to finish this game as the Jets make an early statement with a decisive victory over Buffalo.

Record: 5-1

Week 7: At Pittsburgh Steelers (Sunday Night Football)

Acrisure Stadium (aka the building formerly known as Heinz Field) hasn’t been a friendly territory for the Jets, who are 2-8 since the stadium opened in 2001 and 2-12 overall in Pittsburgh. A short week combined with an emotional letdown after the Bills game leads to an upset.

Record: 5-2

Week 8: At New England Patriots

The Jets take their anger from the Sunday night loss out on New England and make it three straight wins against the Pats. This game has blowout written all over it.

Record: 6-2

Week 9: Vs. Houston Texans (Thursday Night Football)

The have another short week against C.J. Stroud and the Texans, who played his worst professional game last season against the Jets’ defense. Expect Saleh and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich to come up with a few more wrinkles to confuse Stroud and secure a victory.

Record: 7-2

Week 10: At Arizona Cardinals

Having 10 days ahead of this West Coast trip should allow the Jets to re-focus ahead of a potential trap game. Arizona keeps it close but the Jets pull it out late thanks to a key Greg Zeurlein field goal.

Record: 8-2

Week 11: Vs. Indianapolis Colts (Sunday Night Football)

The Jets are primetime warriors by this point, their sixth night game in 11 weeks, while Colts’ starter Anthony Richardson is making his primetime debut here. This game has the potential to get ugly.

Record: 9-2

Week 12: Bye

Week 13: Vs. Seattle Seahawks

Former Jet Geno Smith flies East to return to MetLife as a starter for the first time since leaving the team after the 2016 season. Smith plays well but the Jets win a shootout against Seattle.

Record: 10-2

Week 14; At Miami Dolphins

Mike McDaniel has had Robert Saleh’s number, winning each time he’s had his starting quarterback available in convincing fashion. Tua Tagovailoa is healthy here and the Dolphins continue their recent mastery of the Jets with a double-digit victory.

Record: 10-3

Week 15: At Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jags may be fighting for their lives here but a lot of the Jets remember what Jacksonville did to them in 2022 in an embarrassing home prime time loss. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Record: 11-3

Week 16: Vs. Los Angeles Rams

This could be a good playoff test for the Jets as the Rams are more than capable of making another postseason run. Having this game at 1:00 is an advantage for the Jets, who should take advantage of the time differential for the Rams.

Record: 12-3

Week 17: At Buffalo Bills

This matchup will be important for playoff positioning. The Jets won the earlier meeting and Buffalo has had revenge on its mind for months by this point.

Record: 12-4

Week 18: Vs. Miami Dolphins

The Jets end the season at home for the first time since 2016 and just the second time in the past 15 years. Playing Miami in the cold is a big advantage for the Jets and they secure an AFC East crown with snowflakes falling at MetLife Stadium.

Record: 13-4
